University of Houston quarterback Blake Joseph won't return next fall for his senior season at the Conference USA school. The native of Bryan, Texas, told Cougars Coach Kevin Sumlin about his decision to forgo his final year before the team started spring practice Tuesday. Joseph is on track to graduate in May with a degree in sports administration and, since he was a redshirt in his freshman season, if he decides to transfer to another Division I school, he has one year of college eligibility remaining. Last season when Sumlin replaced the departed Art Briles, Joseph lost a battle with Case Keenum to be the Cougars' starting quarterback and the two split time at the position. We appreciate everything he's done for the Cougar football program, Sumlin told the Houston Chronicle.
