KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla., March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's (ASF) online Spring Semi-Annual Auction of Astronaut Experiences & Memorabilia, which opens Friday, March 18, is offering bidders the chance to own rare relics that flew in outer-space and even to the Moon with hero astronauts like Buzz Aldrin, and autographed memorabilia from legends like astronaut John Glenn.
The U.S. space agency says it plans to honor astronaut Thomas Mattingly with the presentation of an Ambassador of Exploration Award. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said Mattingly will be honored for his contributions to the U.S. space program.
