The Russian gas giant Gazprom has announced that it will export gas to Moldova for 253 dollars in the third quarter of 2008, the Moldovan news agency Infotag reported on 16 July. The price is over 20 per cent higher against the current price of 213 dollars per 1,000 cu. m. of gas.

MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - Moscow said it is not rational for Chisinau to sign direct gas contracts with Central Asian suppliers after the country's energy gas demand grew, a source with the Russian government said.

Investigators Saturday were trying to determine the cause of a cargo plane crashed in Moldova that killed all eight crew members on board, authorities said.

Net profit of the Moldovan-Russian joint venture Moldovagaz was 633.4m lei (60.3m dollars) in 2007 compared with 200.6m lei in losses reported in 2006, the Moldovan news agency Infotag reported on 24 March.
