Firefighters fought and monitored several fires Sunday in the Coronado National Forest and Saguaro National Park. No structures were damaged, and there were no injuries, officials said. The Nuevo and White Tank fires, five miles west of Tubac, have burned about 9,600 acres in Coronado forest.

By Sid Steketee, The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Jul. 27--First-time visitors to the Chiricahua National Monument should head straight for Massai Point at the end of Bonita Canyon Road. A hike from there into the heart of the spectacular rock formations for which the monument is known is a must.
