Mike Comrie scored the game-winner Saturday in a shootout, lifting the Ottawa Senators to a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. On his game-winning goal, Comrie slipped the puck just inside the left post, past Pittsburgh netminder Marc-Andre Fleury. The contest went to overtime when Chris Phillips' sixth goal this season led to a 3-3 tie at 13:54 of the third period.
Nick Foligno scored his 12th and 13th goals Saturday night to help the Ottawa Senators bag a 6-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Foligno's 12th gave Ottawa a 3-2 lead at 19:28 of the second period and his 13th upped the lead to 5-3 at 15:16 of the third. Daniel Alfredsson also scored twice, once on the power play.
Jason Spezza scored just 12 seconds into the game Thursday night and the Ottawa Senators raced to a three-goal lead en route to a 4-2 victory over Edmonton. Spezza stole the puck at the opposing blue line and headed toward the goal uncontested.
Ales Kotalik's shootout goal Saturday night gave the Buffalo Sabres a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders, who tied the game with 2 seconds left in regulation. The Islanders trailed by two with 1:34 left in the third period but got goals from Mike Comrie at 18:26 and Chris Campoli at 19:58 to send the game to overtime.
