Hollywood's Summit Entertainment said its trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon was viewed 10.6 million times online the first week it was available. The trailer hits on MySpace set a new record for the site with a total of 4.2 million online views within the first 24 hours and a total of 7.8 million within the first seven days.

British film director David Slade has been hired to head up The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Summit Entertainment announced. The movie, which will be the third in the franchise based on Stephenie Meyer's iconic vampire romance series, is slated for release June 30, 2010, Variety.com said Wednesday. Director Chris Weitz recently began shooting New Moon, the second film in the series, which is set to open in the United States Nov.
