By Jared Page Deseret News City Creek Center is going green. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' $1.5 billion downtown project is taking part in a pilot program of the U.S. Green Building Council that promotes environmentally responsible and sustainable development.

Bridges are nice. I love the Eccles bridge at the University of Utah, and I like all nice bridges over rivers.

City Creek Reserve Inc., a development arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is seeking planned development approval for the overall site plan and design of City Creek Center -- including the proposed skybridge over Main Street at approximately 50 South.

Demolition crews are shaking up downtown Salt Lake City, but not enough to register on the Richter scale. The University of Utah Seismograph Stations receive periodic calls from business people curious if razing the ZCMI Center rises to earthquake magnitude.
