Brad Hawpe's three-run homer Tuesday keyed a 14-hit attack for the Colorado Rockies who outlasted San Diego 11-10. Clint Barmes had a two-run inside-the-park homer to help Colorado move five games ahead of San Francisco in the National League wild-card race.

Seth Smith drove in five runs with two homers Sunday, leading the Colorado Rockies to a 13-5 rout and a three-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Smith's 14th homer this season was a two-run shot in the bottom of the first and his 15th was a three-run blast in Colorado's six-run seventh. Yorvit Torrealba had two hits and three RBI.

Jason Giambi singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth Friday, finishing off a late Colorado comeback that brought the Rockies a 5-4 win over Arizona. Giambi was called up from the minors by Colorado earlier this week and has produced clutch hits in his only two at-bats. He had a two-run single Wednesday as a pinch-hitter in a 5-2 win over the New York Mets and came through again Friday in a key situation. Yorvit Torrealba opened the eighth with a single off Blaine Boyer (0-2) and Clint Barmes sacrificed Torrealba to second.

David Wright's three hits and three RBI Thursday led the New York Mets to an 8-3 win over Colorado. His two-run double gave New York a 4-0 lead with one out in the top of the fifth, and his seventh-inning sacrifice fly made it 6-0. Angel Pagan had three hits and one RBI. Jason Giambi, in his first Colorado appearance, singled in the go-ahead runs in the eighth Wednesday to give the Rockies a 5-2 win over the New York Mets. Colorado signed Giambi to a minor league contract after he was released by Oakland and the Rockies called him up this week. With the score tied at 2-2 and the bases loaded with one out in the eighth, Giambi was called on to hit for Clint Barmes.
