He had a two-run single Wednesday as a pinch-hitter in a 5-2 win over the New York Mets and came through again Friday in a key situation. Colorado signed Giambi to a minor league contract after he was released by Oakland and the Rockies called him up this week. With the score tied at 2-2 and the bases loaded with one out in the eighth, Giambi was called on to hit for Clint Barmes.
