Jason Campbell's touchdown pass to Santana Moss sent Washington ahead Sunday and the Redskins held on to down the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16-13. The Redskins (2-2) got all their points in the third quarter, erasing a 10-0 halftime deficit. The Campbell-to-Moss play covered 59 yards.
Washington's Shaun Suisham kicked three field goals Sunday and the Redskins beat the St. Louis Rams 9-7. Suisham booted one field goal in each of the first three quarters -- from 21, 28 and 23 yards.
Clinton Portis scored the game's only TD and the Washington Redskins used their best defensive effort this season to record a 10-3 win Sunday over Philadelphia. Portis scored on a one-yard third-quarter run and finished with 70 yards on 22 carries for Washington (8-7).
Ryan Fitzpatrick ran for one touchdown and threw for another Sunday, leading the Cincinnati Bengals to a 20-13 win over the Washington Redskins. With Fitzpatrick accounting for two touchdowns, Cincinnati built a 14-0 first quarter lead and never trailed. The loss likely ended Washington's faint playoff hopes. Fitzpatrick completed 16-of-29 passes for 209 yards and a 12-yard scoring pass to Chris Henry following Chris Cooley's fumble. Running back Cedric Benson gained 161 all-purpose yards (73 rushing, 88 receiving), while Shayne Graham kicked two field goals for the Bengals (2-11-1), who averted their worst single-season record by getting their first win since Nov.
Washington running back Clinton Portis discussed his frustrations with Jim Zorn Wednesday, a day after criticizing the first-year coach. The two met to discuss Portis's comments Tuesday on a local radio program. Portis, the NFL's third-leading rusher, was upset about not playing in the second half of Sunday night's 24-10 loss at Baltimore in favor of Ledell Betts. He told reporters after the contest he was benched, a claim Zorn has repeatedly denied. The real issue is, 'Just come in and talk,' Zorn, Washington's first-year head coach, said about Wednesday's meeting.
