By 2012, Conwy education officials expect more than 65% of primary schools will have more than a quarter of their places unfilled.

A TEACHER who transformed a potential truant into a gifted athlete has been named as the outstanding new teacher of the year in Wales. Aimee Jones, who teaches PE at Old Colwyn's Ysgol Bryn Elian Secondary School, has been in the job for only 18 months.
