By ERIK ROBINSON Rod Engle, a biologist with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, scoops salmon fry captured on the White Salmon River. New research suggests wild-spawning salmon will be able to recolonize the river after Condit Dam is removed in October 2009.
Spring chinook salmon season opens Sunday at Wind River and Drano Lake, and on April 1 in the White Salmon River and April 2 in the Klickitat River. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the angling regulations for the mid-Columbia tributaries late last week.
