PITTSBURGH, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- AEC Group has recently been awarded the trade contract for "Bid Package #11C Converged Network, Unified Communications, and Wireless Infrastructure" for the Consol Energy Center (CEC), the newly constructed arena in Pittsburgh and future home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The coal and gas company Consol Energy Inc. has won the naming rights for the new Pittsburgh Penguins hockey arena. The deal means that the arena will be known as the Consol Energy Center for 21 years after its opening for the 2010-2011 season, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
The Pittsburgh Penguins reached a financing deal for a new arena that will keep the NHL team in the city where it has played since 1967. Gov. Ed Rendell announced the agreement Tuesday at the Pennsylvania Gaming Congress.
Canadian business executive Jim Balsillie, whose company makes the BlackBerry wireless messaging device, signed an agreement to buy the Pittsburgh Penguins. The announcement Thursday came hours before the Penguins were to open their season against the Philadelphia Flyers.
