By Lisa Schencker, The Salt Lake Tribune Jul. 1--The Utah Attorney General's Office is asking a judge to dismiss part of a lawsuit that alleges an education omnibus bill is unconstitutional.
By Frank Pignanelli & LaVarr Webb Even though this is a low-key municipal election year, numerous noncandidate proposals and issues will be on the ballot in November. Among them are hot issues like education voucher repeal and possibly proposals to split school districts.
The Utah Constitutional Revision Commission is looking for two new members to fill six-year volunteer terms. The new members will help the commission fulfill its duty of conducting a comprehensive examination of the Utah Constitution and making recommendations for the governor and Utah Legislature.
