Customer care and billing services provider Convergys has reported a net loss of $140m for the third quarter 2008, against a profit of $41.8m in the year-ago quarter, on revenue down 4% at $676.2m. The loss was attributed to the write-down of deferred charges related to HR management contracts.

Zon Tv Cabo, a cable and satellite operator in Portugal, has upgraded to Convergys's Infinys 3.0 rating and billing engine to support rollout of advanced services.
