The New Jersey Nets traded high-scoring guard Vince Carter to the Orlando Magic Thursday in a five-player trade on draft day. Orlando also acquired forward Ryan Anderson, while sending guards Courtney Lee and Rafer Alston and forward Tony Battie to the Nets. The deal allows New Jersey to clear nearly $18 million in salary cap space for the 2010-11 season. Carter, 32, an Orlando resident, goes back to his home state. Vince gives us a veteran, go-to scoring presence, especially at the end of games, Magic General Manager Otis Smith said.
Rashard Lewis scored 28 points Friday and the Orlando Magic pulled away down the stretch to defeat Boston 117-96 and take the lead in their playoff series. The Magic shot 59 percent and grabbed a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Andre Iguodala's jump shot with 2.2 seconds to play capped a fourth-quarter comeback for Philadelphia Sunday on the way to a 100-98 playoff win over Orlando. The Sixers came from 18 points behind in the second half to take a 1-0 lead in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Philadelphia outscored the Magic 35-19 in the fourth quarter. Iguodala totaled 20 points and Lou Williams had 18. Orlando's Dwight Howard led all scorers with 31 points.
Richard Jefferson scored 24 points Monday to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 98-80 victory over the Orlando Magic. Ramon Sessions added 19 points and eight rebounds and Joe Alexander scored 18 for the Bucks. Courtney Lee scored 17 points for the Magic, who have lost three straight games for the first time this season.
