Texas guard/forward Damion James said Saturday he will withdraw his name from this month's NBA Draft and return for his senior year. This process has been a great learning experience, James said in a statement.
Gerald Henderson scored 24 points Saturday to lead second-seeded Duke to a 74-69 win over Texas in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament. With Duke leading by three with 11.5 seconds left, Henderson grabbed a rebound, was fouled, and made both free throws for the final margin. The ninth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks, led by Sherron Collins' 21 points, beat Texas 83-73 Saturday to win their fifth straight Big 12 championship. The Jayhawks (25-6, 14-2 Big 12) won six of their final seven regular season games to edge fifth-ranked Oklahoma, which was 13-3 in the Big 12. Cole Aldrich had 10 rebounds and 12 points for Kansas. Damion James scored 26 to lead Texas in scoring.
Marshall Moses had 15 points and 16 rebounds Saturday to pace Oklahoma State to a 68-59 win over 24th-ranked Texas. James Anderson added 16 points for the Cowboys (19-9, 8-6 Big 12), who have won five straight games.
