By Paul Beebe, The Salt Lake Tribune Aug. 22--Richard Anderson, a former chief executive officer of Northwest Airlines, has been named the new CEO of Delta Air Lines, replacing Gerald Grinstein who has wanted to retire since Delta exited from bankruptcy earlier this year.
US-based Delta Air Lines has appointed Richard Anderson to serve as the company's chief executive officer effective September 1, 2007. Mr Anderson has nearly 20 years of airline industry experience and will become the eighth CEO of Delta.
Atlanta's Delta Air Lines Inc. said Tuesday it named board member and former Northwest Airlines Corp. Chief Executive Richard Anderson as its new leader. Anderson, 52, succeeds Gerald Grinstein, 75, who will retire from the airline after leading it through bankruptcy proceedings.
