The Edmonton Oilers traded goaltender Mathieu Garon to Pittsburgh Saturday for goalie Dany Sabourin and forward Ryan Stone, the Oilers announced. The Oilers also got a fourth-round draft choice in 2011. Sabourin had a 6-8-2 record with a 2.85 goals-against average in 19 games for the Penguins this season. Garon's record with Edmonton was 6-8-0 with a 3.17 goals-against average. Addressing our goaltending situation was a high priority for us and moving forward, we believe we've accomplished that as well as acquiring some valuable assets for our organization, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini said.

Nathan Horton scored his ninth and 10th goals this season Saturday to lead the Florida Panthers' surprisingly easy 6-1 rout of Pittsburgh. Florida led, 2-0, after the first period on goals by Ville Peltonen and Horton, and never trailed after that. Bryan McCabe had a power-play goal and one assist.

Travis Zajac broke a scoreless tie with 2:21 remaining in the second period Wednesday and New Jersey dominated the third in downing Pittsburgh 4-1. Scott Clemmensen made 26 saves in what was the Devils' eighth win in nine games. Zach Parise and Dainius Zubrus scored during the first half of the third period to extend New Jersey's lead to 3-0 and Patrick Elias chipped in an empty-net goal with 41 seconds to play. Clemmensen had his bid for what would have been his first shutout in five seasons spoiled when Matt Cooke tipped in a shot by Evgeni Malkin with 3:58 to go. Dany Sabourin allowed three goals on 31 shots.

Thomas Vanek got his league-leading 20th goal of the season Monday, helping the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Vanek, Ales Kotalik and Daniel Paille scored the final three goals of the game for the Sabres. Derek Roy also scored for Buffalo and Ryan Miller made 29 saves.
