Cliff Pennington hit a two-run homer and had three hits Saturday in Oakland's 9-5 win over Seattle. The homer, his third, pulled Oakland within 3-2 in a four-run third. Mark Ellis had two hits and two RBI. Daric Barton hit a two-run double. Adam Kennedy had two hits and one RBI and two others drove in one run each for the Athletics, who had lost three of four. Winner Brett Anderson (8-10) gave up three runs and seven hits in five innings and stuck out six.

Brad Hawpe hit a home run in the first inning, one of four Colorado homers, as the Colorado Rockies beat Oakland 11-9 Saturday in an inter-league contest. Ian Stewart, Clint Barmes and Seth Smith each had solo homers for the Rockies, who have won 19 of their last 22 games. Jorge De La Rosa (4-7) got the win after going six innings and giving up two runs on five hits.
