News - David Weathers
Casey McGehee singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to complete a Milwaukee rally Friday and lift the Brewers to a 3-2 win over Houston. Milwaukee won its third straight and has captured six of its last eight games. Houston had a 2-1 lead going into the seventh inning, but the Brewers tied it in that frame on a two-out, RBI single by Felipe Lopez. Milwaukee produced the winning run in the eighth on a double by Prince Fielder and McGehee's single. David Weathers (4-5) got the win by working a scoreless eighth.
MIAMI - The Chicago Cubs' 24-hour visit to Miami included a brief stay atop the NL wild-card race. Then they lost their lead because they couldn't beat David Weathers.
HOUSTON - Adrian Beltre hit his 25th homer and drove in three runs, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to their eighth straight win Tuesday night, 7-5 over the slumping Houston Astros. The Dodgers have won 14 of 15 and eight consecutive road games, something they haven't done since June 1982.
