By Larry Parsons, The Monterey County Herald, Calif. Jun. 16--The dust is far from settled after this week's rejection of a coastal land-use plan that the Pebble Beach Co. has been seeking for years to expend its Del Monte Forest resort.

The Clint Eastwood-backed plan to develop a swath of the Monterey Peninsula into a golf course and resort struck out late Wednesday, after a lengthy and emotional debate in front of the California Coastal Commission.
