The U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) commends the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academies for addressing critical patient safety issues in its latest national report "Preventing Medication Errors," released today.

TOPIC: An annual report from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention shows more than 44% of all Americans are taking at least one prescription drug, according to an article by The Associated Press. The report also says 16.5% of Americans take at least three prescription drugs.
