Nikolai Khabibulin held Calgary scoreless over the final two periods Thursday, bringing the Chicago Blackhawks a 5-2 decision over the Flames. The Blackhawks improved to 4-1 on a coast-to-coast, eight-game road trip. Dion Phaneuf scored an unassisted goal with 5:55 to play in the first period that tied the game at 2-2.
A hat trick from Michael Cammalleri kept Calgary hot Wednesday and sent the Flames rolling to a 5-2 victory over Buffalo. Calgary has win six of its last eight games and has lost only once in its last 10 home outings. Buffalo overcame a two-goal deficit to tie it going into the third period, but Todd Bertuzzi scored on a wrist shot 7:08 into the final frame. Cammalleri, who produced a power-play goal in the first period, added another with 8:16 to play in the third and tallied again just 84 seconds later. Dion Phaneuf also scored for the Flames and Miikka Kiprusoff made 25 saves.
