British actor Jude Law is taking his version of Hamlet from London's West End to Broadway, producers announced. Critics have praised Law's interpretation of William Shakespeare's tragic character at London's Wyndham's Theater, in a version directed by Michael Grandage, artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse Theater, the BBC reported Wednesday. Now Hamlet is set for a limited run at New York's Broadhurst Theater starting Oct.
British actress Dame Judi Dench has returned to the stage production of Madame de Sade after suffering a sprained ankle. The Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love actress portrays a noblewoman in Japanese scribe Yukio Mishima's Madame de Sade, which is running at the West End's Wyndham theater and which co-stars Rosamund Pike in the title role.
