Durrell Summers ignited Michigan State to a quick start Wednesday and the 14th-ranked Spartans coasted to a 76-47 blasting of No. 19 Minnesota. Michigan State scored the first eight points of the game, took a 13-1 lead and Summers hit his first four shots.
Kalin Lucas and Durrell Summers combined to make 16-of-22 shots Thursday and lead No. 9 Michigan State to a 71-56 victory over Iowa. The Spartans opened a 13-point halftime lead and were not threatened during the second period, winning for the 13th time in 14 games.

A 26-point effort by Raymar Morgan Wednesday allowed No. 22 Michigan State to hold off The Citadel 79-65. Chris Allen and Durrell Summers both had 12 points and Delvon Roe had 10 for Michigan State.
