VeraSun Energy Corp. has retained Morgan Stanley as an adviser to "evaluate strategic alternatives," according to a company statement released Thursday. That terminology is often used by companies looking for a buyer or merger opportunity, according to Business Week.

DYERSVILLE, Iowa - VeraSun Energy Corp's newly acquired plant will open today in Dyersville, plant manager Pat Hogan confirmed. The ethanol plant, previously operated by US BioEnergy Corp., came under VeraSun's ownership after a merger in April. Hogan said the plant will have around 55 employees.
