LONDON, Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- 2entertain has announced the release of 'Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story' on DVD.
Actor and comedian Eddie Izzard will headline a Christmas movie for British television, the BBC said. Izzard, who starred in the TV drama The Riches, as well as the movies Ocean's 13, My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Valkyrie," Wednesday completed his 26th marathon in 31 days for the Sport Relief charity. The BBC said Izzard will be seen this holiday season in writer-director John Hay's The Lost Christmas.
British comedian and actor Eddie Izzard says his decision to run 40 marathons for charity is gaining a lot of attention along the nation's roads. Izzard, who is running 1,000 miles around Britain for the Sport Relief initiative by Comic Relief, told the BBC he has been mostly received warmly with people very willing to donate, and that his celebrity status frequently prompts motorists recognizing him to pull over and give money. In Birkenhead almost every other car was honking, but there's 1 percent who are negative, Izzard told the British broadcaster.
British mother-daughter actresses Vanessa Redgrave and Joely Richardson have been cast in a new TV version of The Day of the Triffids, the BBC said. Also to appear in the two-part adaptation of John Wyndham's classic science fiction story are Dougray Scott, Eddie Izzard, Brian Cox and Jason Priestley. The BBC said production on the miniseries is to wrap in April.
