Nearly every student in the Moriarty-Edgewood School District rides the bus to school every morning and back home every afternoon. But now the district is scrambling to find a solution before school starts in August to the problem of its main bus contractor closing up shop.

By BETH HAHN Mountain View Telegraph One of the first actions of a new Moriarty Municipal Schools Board of Education could be a new vote on whether to close Edgewood Elementary School. Five candidates expressed support for revisiting the issue during a forum on Jan. 25.
Moriarty school district officials seem to be adopting a wait- and-see attitude. It's probably the best course of action, given that the Moriarty Municipal Schools have nothing to lose and everything to gain by waiting a little longer.
The prospect of the closure of Edgewood Elementary School has been a contentious issue throughout the Moriarty Municipal Schools district. A current campaign to forestall that school closure seems on the verge of becoming equally divisive.
