BISHKEK. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Three miners have died in south Kyrgyzstan as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning, the country's Emergencies Ministry told Interfax on Monday.
Text of report by privately-owned Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency Astana, 23 July: As a result of a gas leak from a gas pipeline in the Abay settlement of South Kazakhstan Region, centralized gas supply has been cut off to a number of houses, Kazakhstan's Emergencies Ministry announced on Wednesday [23 July].
An explosion at an underground Ukrainian coal mine Sunday left 40 people missing and another three people injured, the country's Emergencies Ministry said. The ministry said a combustible mixture of gas and air fueled the explosion at the Karl Marx mine in eastern Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported.
Ukraine's Emergencies and Environment Protection ministries are at odds over the impact of the 16 July phosphorus leak in western Ukraine.
