A bases-loaded single by Kendry Morales capped a three-run, ninth-inning rally Sunday and gave the LA Angels a 9-8 win over the Seattle Mariners. Seattle blew a sixth-inning 8-1 lead, with the Angels scoring four in the sixth inning, one in the seventh and three in the ninth to complete the comeback. Mike Napoli hit a fifth-inning solo homer, Torii Hunter drilled a two-run sixth-inning shot and Bobby Abreu and Vladimir Guerrero had two hits and two RBI apiece, while Chone Figgins had two hits and scored three times for the Angels, who averted a three-game sweep. The winner was Justin Speier (1-1). Seattle's Endy Chavez and Guillermo Quiroz had two RBI each.

Adrian Beltre ignited a six-run fifth inning with a two-run double Friday and the Seattle Mariners went on to down the Los Angeles Angels 8-3. The Mariners won their second straight and improved their win total to 11 -- five more than any other team in the AL West. Seattle owned a 1-0 lead going into the fifth before breaking the game open against Shane Loux (0-2). Ichiro Suzuki, Endy Chavez and Ken Griffey Jr.

Ramon Santiago drove in five runs for Detroit Sunday, leading the Tigers past the Seattle Mariners 8-2. Santiago hit a bases-loaded double and drove in two other runs with a single and sacrifice bunt. Winner Rick Porcello (1-1) allowed a run and five hits over seven innings, picking up his first win

Franklin Gutierrez doubled and scored the winning run in the 10th inning on a throwing error in Seattle's 3-2 win Tuesday over the Los Angeles Angels. Gutierrez began Seattle's at-bat with a double off the wall in center. Yuniesky Betancourt dropped a sacrifice bunt down the third-base line.

Endy Chavez finished off a five-run second with a two-run single Friday and five Seattle pitchers made the lead stand up for a 5-4 victory over Oakland. Chris Jakubauskas (1-0), the second Mariners' pitcher of the evening, worked two innings of relief to get his first major league victory.
