Today, Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: UMPQ), and Energy Trust of Oregon, Inc., an independent nonprofit organization, unveiled low-interest financing for energy-saving improvements and solar energy systems.

Tax credits contained in the federal Energy Policy Act of 2005 mean breaks for energy-savvy contractors and homeowners, but the kickbacks also mean a local nonprofit will be able to do more with its dollars.
