Datebook ADOPTION: Adoptions From The Heart, 1525 Oregon Pike, will present "October 2008 Adoption Education Class: What Your Commitment Means to Me" from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15. The class addresses what the commitment means to a birth mother. Cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple.
MENTAL HEALTH: Mental Health America of Lancaster County is sponsoring free and confidential mental health screenings for National Depression Screening Day on Thursday, Oct. 9. Screenings for depression, bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety will take place from noon to 5:30 p.m.
Ephrata Community Hospital will host the 5th annual Hunter's Health Check event on Sunday, October 19, Noon-3 p.m. at the Cocalico Center for Health, 63 W. Church Street, Stevens. This free event will provide health screenings, outdoor information and more for hunters and their families.
