MENTAL HEALTH: Mental Health America of Lancaster County is sponsoring free and confidential mental health screenings for National Depression Screening Day on Thursday, Oct. 9. Screenings for depression, bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety will take place from noon to 5:30 p.m.

Ephrata Community Hospital will host the 5th annual Hunter's Health Check event on Sunday, October 19, Noon-3 p.m. at the Cocalico Center for Health, 63 W. Church Street, Stevens. This free event will provide health screenings, outdoor information and more for hunters and their families.

Dr. Susan R. Hovenden will discuss Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, also known as PCOS, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ephrata Health Pavilion, 175 Martin Ave., Ephrata. PCOS is not new, having been first described in 1935.

Datebook CANCER: The Cancer Support Group, sponsored by the Cancer Center of Ephrata Community Hospital, will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the Ephrata Cancer Center, 460 N. Reading Road, Ephrata.

Datebook EXERCISE: Healthy Moves, a low-intensity exercise program for seniors hosted by Ephrata Community Hospital, will meet 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays beginning Wednesday, March 12, at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Ave., Ephrata.
