Billy Butler had two home runs and four RBI Monday to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Mike Jacobs and Alberto Callaspo each had RBI singles for Kansas City, which got only its second victory in its last seven games. Kyle Davies (7-9) earned the win after allowing a run on five hits in five innings.

Doug Fister went a strong 7 1/3 innings Tuesday and the Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angeles Angels 2-1 after being shut out in their previous two games. Fister (2-1) held the Halos to one run on five hits.

Ervin Santana pitched a complete-game three-hit shutout and Jeff Mathis drove in three runs Monday in the Los Angeles Angels' 6-0 win over Tampa Bay. Santana (5-6) struck out six and walked two for the Angels, who have topped the Rays in the first two games of a three-game set in Anaheim, Calif. Mathis had two hits, including a three-run double in the sixth, and Reggie Willits had two RBI and a run scored for the Angels. Tampa Bay starter David Price (5-5) was cruising, allowing just one base runner after four innings, before the Angels scored three times in the fifth inning on Willits' RBI single and an RBI single by Chone Figgins.

Ervin Santana allowed three hits over eight innings Thursday to bounce back from a poor start to the season and boost the Los Angeles Angels past Oakland 6-2. Santana (2-5) had an ERA of 7.81 in eight starts prior to his domination of the Athletics.

Chris Jakubauskas teamed with three relievers on a three-hitter Wednesday, lifting Seattle to a 1-0 triumph over the Los Angeles Angels. Ken Griffey Jr.
