Will Venable had a solo homer and a three-run double Wednesday, pacing the San Diego Padres to a 6-3 victory over Colorado. The Rockies saw a three-game winning streak halted and their lead over Atlanta in the National League wild-card race was cut to four games. Venable's 12th home run of the season came during a two-run second and he then cleared the bases by launching a double to center in the fifth to give the Padres a 6-0 lead.
