By Scott Wyman, South Florida Sun-Sentinel Jun. 6--A second major runway will be built on the south side of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after county commissioners ended two decades of debate and gave their go-ahead to the long-delayed expansion plans early Wednesday morning.

To aid the staging and running of the First Annual Bike Festival, parking will be temporarily prohibited Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the following streets: * Lake and Lucerne avenues from Dixie Highway to Federal Highway * "J", "K", "L", and "M" streets between Lake and Lucerne avenues.

All federal, state, county and municipal offices, courts and libraries will be closed Monday for the Independence Day holiday. Banks and post offices will be closed; only Express Mail will be delivered. Palm Tran will not operate buses, but Tri-Rail will operate on a Sunday schedule.
