HOUSTON, July 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO) today announced that its subsidiary, Marathon International Petroleum Angola Block 32 Limited, has entered into a definitive agreement with CNOOC International Limited (CNOOC), and Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (SINOPEC) under which CNOOC and SINOPEC will purchase an undivided 20 percent participating interest in the Production Sharing Contract and Joint Operating Agreement in Block 32 offshore Angola.
The European Commission has approved, subject to conditions, the proposed acquisition by Galp Energia of Esso Portuguesa, Esso Espanola and a part of ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical.
Petrobras, Galp Energia, and EDP Energias do Brasil have announced that they will sign memoranda of understanding for co-operation in the biofuel, natural gas, electricity generation, and hydrocarbon exploration and production areas.
