By Cumberland Times News, Md. Jun. 13--OAKLAND -- Eight people were injured in three separate accidents in Garrett County on Wednesday and early Thursday.

State officials are considering draining the Savage River Reservoir in far western Garrett County to replace at least one of the dam's four release gates. Scott Shumaker of the Upper Potomac River Commission told The Cumberland Times-News that the 350-acre lake could be drained this winter or next.
