Gran Tierra Energy has finished drilling and testing the Proa.x-1 exploration well in the Surubi Block of the Noroeste Basin in Argentina. Gran Tierra Energy began drilling the Proa.x-1 exploration well on July 9, 2008, and reached a total measured depth of 12,920 feet.

Gran Tierra Energy, a company focused on oil exploration and production in South America, has successfully tested the Popa-2 exploration well in the Rio Magdalena Block in central Colombia at a combined rate of 8.5 million cubic feet of gas per day and 236 barrels of oil and condensate per day.

Calgary-based exploration and production firm Gran Tierra Energy has successfully completed five drill stem tests on its Costayaco-2 step out well in the Costayaco Field in the Putumayo Basin, in southern Colombia. A combined maximum flow rate in excess of 6,600 barrels of oil per day was attained.

Canadian exploration and production firm Gran Tierra Energy has completed drilling the Costayaco-2 well in the Putumayo basin of Colombia and has initiated preparations for testing the primary hydrocarbon reservoirs encountered.

Gran Tierra Energy has announced that its net production after royalty at the end of 2007 has increased to approximately 3,300 barrels of oil per day. The company attributed the increase to growing production capacity from exploration drilling during the year.
