THE managing director of Lothian Buses is still determined to expand Edinburgh's bus services - despite the arrival of trams to the city. Writing in his latest newsletter to staff, Ian Craig said investment would continue and fears that trams would squeeze busses out were unfounded.

By NO BYLINE THE chief of Lothian Buses has hailed the flat-fare pricing structure introduced earlier this year as a success. The company made the cost of all journeys in and around the city GBP 1 earlier this year, controversially scrapping the 80p fare for short journeys.
