Russia's Nikolay Davydenko won the Hamburg Open in Germany Sunday, his 15th title on the ATP Tour. Davydenko downed Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-4, 6-2 in a match that lasted just under an hour and a half. . The title was Davydenko's first this year.

Nikolay Davydenko of Russia beat David Ferrer of Spain Saturday to advance to the final of the Hamburg Open. The second-seeded Davydenko won 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) over Ferrer and will meet France's Paul-Henri Mathieu in Sunday's title match. Mathieu postes a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas.

Top-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon was upset by wild card German Daniel Brands Tuesday in the second round of the Hamburg Open. Brands lost the first set to Simon but wound up winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
