It was only the sixth road win of the season for the Wizards, and just their 19th victory overall -- 11 fewer than the next worst team in the Eastern Conference. After Toronto's Jason Kapono tied the game on a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left, Juan Dixon put Washington in front with a fadeaway jumper. The Raptors again tied it when Jose Calderon made a layup with 16 seconds to go.
Daequan Cook of the Miami Heat topped Rashard Lewis of the Orlando Magic Saturday night in the NBA All-Star 2009 Three-Point Shootout in Phoenix. Two-time defending champion Jason Kapono of the Toronto Raptors, was eliminated in the second round when Lewis beat him 15-14.
Roko Ukic put Toronto in front with 21 seconds remaining Wednesday and the Raptors held on for a surprising 91-89 triumph over San Antonio. Ukic scored a career-high 22 points, who go into the All-Star break on a two-game winning streak. Andrea Bargnani added 23 points for the Raptors and Jason Kapono had 21. Ukic's jump shot gave Toronto a 90-89 advantage, after which San Antonio missed a chance to regain the lead when Manu Ginobili could not convert a layup attempt with 10 seconds left. Toronto's Jermaine O'Neal was fouled with 8 seconds to play, but he made only one free throw for a 91-89 lead.
Chris Bosh scored 18 points Friday and the Toronto Raptors dominated the third period to run away from New Jersey 101-79. The Raptors won their second straight on the heels of a five-game losing streak.
Chris Bosh, after being trapped in an elevator for an hour earlier in the evening, scored 30 points Friday in carrying Toronto to a 93-88 win over Atlanta. Bosh did not arrive at the Air Canada Centre until 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the game.
