By Vernon Clark, The Philadelphia Inquirer Feb. 9--The familiar orange ticket vending machines at SEPTA regional rail stations have been taken out of service, officials said yesterday, because the machines could not accept the new dollar bills.

Proponents of an all-Alaska natural gas pipeline, touting a new industry partner to back their plan, say the state must push ahead now to get its gas to market, to provide much needed gas for Alaska and to protect the economic future of the state.

Former Gov. Walter J. Hickel says that an all-Alaska natural gas line is worth fighting for - to allow Alaskans access to their own resources - and the fight has just begun.
