The Nepalese tourist spot Mattikhan Hill in Pokhara has been renamed Mattikhan Lumley View in honor of British actress Joanna Lumley and her father James.
British actress Joanna Lumley says she is excited to meet Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav during her visit as part of a veterans campaign. Lumley, known for roles on TV series like The New Avengers and Absolutely Fabulous, said Saturday before departing for Nepal she is looking forward to also meeting with former Gurkha soldiers during her weeklong visit. The comedy team of Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders will be honored with a fellowship at Sunday's British Academy of Film and Television Arts TV awards show.
