By ERYL CRUMP POPULAR Irish boy-band Boyzone wowed a large crowd on the opening show of the Faenol Festival last night. More than 6,000 people danced, cheered and waved as the boys ran through their back-catalogue of memorable hits.

BRYN Terfel's Faenol Festival now has its own entry on the socialising website Facebook. The popularity of the music event has grown hugely since it began in 2000. The ninth Faenol Festival takes place between Bangor and Caernarfon on August 22-25.

THE winner of the search to find Nancy for the new West End production of Oliver! is the latest star to join the Faenol Festival line-up.
