Daniel Murphy and Wilson Valdez drove in two runs each Sunday, leading the New York Mets to a 6-2 win over Washington. One of Murphy's two hits was a two-run third-inning double. Valdez hit a two-run eighth-inning triple. Josh Thole and Carlos Beltran hit RBI singles.

Omir Santos doubled in what proved to be the winning run in the seventh inning of the New York Mets' 3-2 victory over the visiting Florida Marlins. Santos drove in the second run in a two-run seventh that helped make a winner of John Maine (5-3), who shut the Marlins out over six innings before leaving the game because he was not feeling well.

Jose Reyes had three hits and three RBI Saturday to propel the New York Mets to a 10-1 rout of Pittsburgh. It was their sixth win in a row. New York halted a two-game slide, getting 5 1/3 innings out of starter Mike Pelfrey (3-0), who gave up seven hits and four walks, but escaped by allowing just three runs. Francisco Rodriguez came on in the ninth for his fifth save. This was the first meeting of the year between the NL East rivals.
