NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Leonard Cohen, Jackie DeShannon, David Foster, Johnny Mandel and Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White, Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Larry Dunn and Al McKay will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame this year, SHOF Chairman/CEO Hal David announced today.

Turner Classic Movies has announced plans to mark the 100th anniversary of Johnny Mercer's birth by airing a documentary about the late U.S.

U.S. entertainer Paul Anka has been chosen to receive the Johnny Mercer Award at the upcoming Songwriters Hall of Fame 2008 Awards dinner in New York. Hal David, Chairman and CEO of the Hall of Fame, made the announcement Tuesday. The event is to take place June 19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

NEW YORK - Alicia Keys will receive the Starlight Award, which honors gifted songwriters in the early years of their careers, at the 2005 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards gala. Keys' selection was announced Wednesday by Hal David, chairman and chief executive officer of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
