Casey Janssen began a four-inning scoreless stretch by the Toronto bullpen Wednesday in the Blue Jays' 7-3 victory over Baltimore. Toronto overcame an early 2-0 deficit to win its third straight game. Scott Richmond (7-10) left the game after five innings with a 4-3 lead and got the win thanks to outstanding relief pitching from Janssen, Josh Roenicke, Brandon League and Jason Frasor. The relievers combined to give up a hit and one walk. The Blue Jays broke a 2-2 tie with a three-run fourth.
Aaron Hill's 100th RBI of the season, on a double in the 11th inning Tuesday, scored Jose Bautista and gave the Toronto Blue Jays a 6-5 win over Baltimore. Hill, who also had his 33rd homer of the year, had not had more than 78 RBI in a season prior to this year.
Jose Bautista's second hit Saturday, an eighth-inning RBI single, lifted the Toronto Blue Jays to a 2-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. Gene Kingsale scored in the bottom of the 11th Tuesday, giving the Netherlands a 2-1 win that eliminated the Dominican Republic from the World Baseball Classic. Sidney De Jong hit a double off the wall, then scored two batters later as Kingsale singled.
