The Atlanta Hawks, led by Joe Johnson's 35 points, won their fifth straight game Sunday, ripping the Portland Trail Blazers 98-80. The Hawks took control of the contest late in the third quarter and coasted to the win. Josh Smith contributed 19 points, Mike Bibby had 15 and Al Horford 13 for Atlanta. Brandon Roy tallied 29 points and added five assists, and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 19 points for Portland, which had won six of its previous eight games.

Joe Johnson scored 30 points Monday to carry the Atlanta Hawks to an 89-79 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. The Hawks played without forward Marvin Williams, who had lower back pain. Josh Smith had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Hawks.

Milwaukee used 67 points from Charlie Villanueva, Richard Jefferson and Ramon Sessions combined Saturday to forge a 110-107 win over Atlanta. Villanueva led the way with 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
