San Francisco remained tied with Atlanta for second place in the chase for the National League wild-card berth, four games behind Colorado. The Giants had allowed 32 runs in their previous four games, but got a well-pitched contest Wednesday from starter Jonathan Sanchez and four relievers.

Barry Zito turned in a solid seven innings while four Giants chipped in two RBI apiece in San Francisco's 10-2 drubbing of Colorado Tuesday. Zito (10-12) gave up two runs on five hits and struck out nine to pull the Giants to within two games of Colorado in the National League wild-card chase. Juan Uribe, Travis Ishikawa, Bengie Molina and Aaron Rowand each had two RBI as the Giants outhit the Rockies 10-5. Ubaldo Jimenez (13-11) took the loss for only the second time in his past dozen starts.
